DOWNTOWN

The Downtown Business District is often considered the heart of the community stretching from just west of Cross Keys Rd along the White Horse Pike to Jackson Rd. It includes a portion of the Historic District along the South White Horse Pike.

BERLIN

One of the oldest settlements in Camden County "Lonaconing" marked the halfway stop between the Atlantic Ocean and the Delaware River.  The railroad brought travelers from Atlantic City to Philadelphia with a stop at "Long-A-Coming" Station.  And today, a drive along the White Horse Pike provides a destination.

ABOUT US

Greetings from Berlin

LET'S CONNECT.

To secure Downtown Berlin Boro as a unique destination through innovative and strategic promotion, special events and business planning for the purpose of preserving its history as well as sustaining a healthy business economy for our community.

Downtown Berlin Boro invites experiential retail, eateries, and performance venues to create an atmosphere of ease and enjoyment. A mix of eclectic storefronts and unique service businesses will offer local residents walkable or bike-able shopping options.  Community residents will be known for their their commitment to cooperatively building Downtown projects and their eagerness to see a viable business district. Schools and government will continue to be progressive, and the quality churches will continue to flourish. Incremental rehabilitations of commercial buildings along with well-designed and branded streetscape, place-making projects, and special events will occur.  The downtown will serve the community to the highest degree.

Downtown Berlin Boro will prove to be a place for real connection.

In order to achieve this vision, the community will continue to involve more residents in the revitalization process. New volunteers and leaders will become involved with each new project or community initiative. Particular attention will be placed on the retention and recruitment of business and the restoration of the buildings, especially in the downtown area. Continued promotion of a main street style approach to revitalization, historic preservation, and a connection with the natural environment adjacent to the downtown will be essential to meeting these objectives.

A commitment to further develop funding, volunteerism, and publicity will be made in order to maintain a fresh, well-equipped, and organized revitalization program.
